for Outstanding Bicolano

The awards committee of the United Bicolandia Los Angeles (UBLA), a California tax-exempt non-profit public benefit corporation founded in 1974 and regarded by many as the mother organization of most Bicolano associations around Los Angeles county of the United States of America in instituted Dr. Fred Enciso Exemplary Award for Outstanding Bicolano in 2019, an impeccable affirmation for outstanding Bicolanos around the world.

The Dr. Fred Enciso Exemplary Award for Outstanding Bicolano is UBLA’s annual recognition program that honors Bicolanos who serve as the embodiment of leadership excellence and commendable community and social contribution, charitable work, and philanthropic endeavors. The award is inspired by the life of Dr. Fred Enciso, one of the founders of UBLA, who selflessly gave his time, expertise, and resources for the establishment of the said organization. As a tribute to his legacy and to recognize Bicolanos who are deemed as the catalyst of change and who made outstanding contributions to the community, the Dr. Fred Enciso Exemplary Award for Outstanding Bicolano is given.

More so, this recognition supports UBLA’s vision that states, “to promote, serve, embrace, and preserve the Bicolano culture and tradition, and provide spiritual needs and social outreach.” The officers & members of UBLA believe that through this advocacy of recognizing excellence in the lives of outstanding Bicolanos, we provide an avenue to continue to inspire the younger generation to promote, serve, embrace and preserve the Bicolano culture and tradition and keep our heritage alive for future generations.
